WASHINGTON MONUMENT AND  GARDENS

Based on Robert Mill’s original design for the Washington Monument and Charles McKim’s plan for the surrounding garden. This design proposes to bring back the original vision of the National Mall as a symbolic center of the nation—which is currently radically incomplete—as a formal garden inviting public recreation, and a place of monumental memorial expression and public demonstration for all Americans.
